Fall Donations to Our Schools

We began the year serving eight schools, however post Covid we have seen our outreach extend to five new schools. As a result of our ministry, we were contacted by the Solvay School District as they also have students and families who struggle with poverty and homelessness. Just two months into the school year we have donated over five thousand [5840} items to 6 schools. We have also donated supplies to The Salvation Army’s Booth House for homeless teens, The Samaritan Center as well as The Emmaus Ministry.

The vision of Rise Above Poverty is to remove the stigma and shame attached to students who are homeless and lacking the necessities of life by maintaining a supply of hygiene items and new clothing apparel to support students and schools in the Syracuse

Help Us, Help Others Stay Warm this Winter!

Well, the temperatures are dropping and that can only mean one thing in Central New York, Winter. On Saturday, November 13th we are hosting our 3rd annual Winter Ready Drive for new winter coats for students in our schools. We are looking for coats in all sizes, for both genders. We ask for new coats because we want the students we provide clothing to go to school with a sense of dignity and that happens when they can cut the price tags off an item specifically for them.

So, while you are out during the next week please stop and grab a coat for a student in need, as we prepare this post the temperature is only 45 degrees. We need your help to provide warmth.
